Scripps Networks Taps Powerful Search Technology from Endeca to Make Home Improvement Easier than Ever on Redesigned DIYnetwork.com

Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, announced today that Scripps Networks Digital, the leader in lifestyle and home media, has selected and deployed Endeca’s search, navigation, and content publishing capabilities on the all-new DIYnetwork.com (see related news). The launch of DIYnetwork.com is the third site that Scripps Networks, an Endeca customer since 2007, has launched leveraging the Endeca Information Access Platform. Endeca’s advanced technology allows Scripps Networks to expose its expertise and high-value content to attract visitors, differentiate from competitors, and create new revenue streams by creating an unmatched user experience and aggregating extensive amounts of content around popular topics to monetize search and drive advertising revenue on its popular websites.

The new DIYnetwork.com builds on the success of two previous Scripps Networks sites with redesigns utilizing the Endeca platform, HGTV.com and FoodNetwork.com. DIYnetwork.com dynamically contextualizes content for the visitor based on his or her current navigation state to keep interactivity at the speed of thought. By leveraging enhancements offered by the Endeca Information Access Platform, DIYnetwork.com is taking advantage of the speed, scale and simplicity of the platform.

Scripps Networks also uses the Endeca Publishing Suite to create targeted pages for tags and tag combinations, as well as for top keywords and on-air talent names. Using Endeca’s Page Builder, non-technical users create and publish dynamic landing and topic pages that surface relevant content based on key terms visitors use to search or navigate Scripps Networks’ websites.
