arvato services acquires logistics arm of ComBase group
Thursday 23. July 2009 - arvato services, one of Germanys leading logistics contractors, has acquired the logistics division of the insolvent ComBase group with immediate effect. The Karlstein-based company supplies distribution services to mobile communications providers, in particular to the Telefónica O2 Germany telecommunications group.
The transfer of operations will involve a change in employment contract for more than 200 employees. By making this acquisition, arvato services invests in the expansion of its national logistics network and enhances its service offerings for customers in the telecoms industry. The two parties have agreed not to divulge the details of the contract. The transaction has already been approved by the antitrust authorities but is still pending the approval of the relevant boards and by the creditors.
