Stibo Systems Sponsors the IM2009 in Copenhagen, Hosted by Platon

Wednesday 22. July 2009 - Stibo Systems Customers Participate to Discuss Their Challenges and Successes in Managing Product Master Data

More than 160 delegates from leading global businesses met in Copenhagen to discuss the trends and technologies around master data management, data governance, business intelligence and how to develop and implement real-world strategies to further their business objectives. The event clearly achieved this through its keynote presentations as well as the four diverse tracks.

All businesses need, especially in these difficult times, to develop their business processes to improve productivity, reduce margins and increase sales. These benefits were clearly demonstrated in the two presentations by Stibo System’s customers – Siemens and Fujitsu.

Siemens Building Technologies

On Tuesday 16th June 2009, Erwin Mustapha, e-commerce project manager, from Siemens, discussed the ’Strategic use of Product Master Data in Marketing Programs’.

With the analogy that all businesses are like the professional tennis player, Roger Federer, who does not stop practicing just because he won the latest grand slam tournament, and is always striving to be one step ahead of his competitors, Mr. Mustapha explained that businesses also have to continue to improve and develop their processes to stay ahead. Siemens had a long-term challenge to support their website driven by product data from a product information management system, delivering product information, technical documents as well as an intelligent application selector.

Realizing that customers need to have convenient and timely access to product information when making their choices, Siemens now fulfills this demand by using the STEP master data platform, housing all their product data and product related digital assets in one single source. Siemens now delivers products to market more quickly and responds to demands more efficiently, resulting in Siemens fulfilling customer needs and creating customer loyalty.

Fujitsu Technology Solutions

On Wednesday 17th June 2009, Frank Kasper, project manager from Fujitsu Technology Solutions discussed how ‘Consistent and Enriched Product Data is Essential to your Business’.

With the large volume of products and components, as well as operating in over 30 countries in multiple languages, managing and improving their product data is a huge undertaking. Comprehensive product data is the basis for any buying decision.

Mr. Kasper showed how, with the successful implementation of STEP, Fujitsu has improved the quality of product data and increased the efficiency of product content management across the enterprise.

“I think it is important to share knowledge and experiences with other business leaders, so that we can all learn and improve our businesses” said Mr. Kasper, “I hope that the delegates can take away something from my presentation to help them in their corporate decisions.”
