Scalable Display Technologies Signs OEM Software License Agreement with NEC Display Solutions

Tuesday 16. June 2009 - Solution Brings Ease of Use to "Projector Stacking" for Increased Brightness and 3D Applications to the Business Projector Market

Scalable Display Technologies, the leader in auto-calibration software for multi-projector displays is pleased to announce that NEC Display Solutions Ltd. , a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation of Japan, has signed an OEM license for use of Scalable’s camera feedback based projector alignment software. Under the terms of the agreement, Scalable has developed and NEC has licensed a customized version of Scalable’s patented multi-projector alignment software.

The software solution provided to NEC-DS by Scalable enables up to four of the NEC-DS NP Installation Series (3250, 3250W, 2250, 1250) projectors to be stacked or superimposed with pixel perfect precision. The Scalable software has been added to NEC-DS’s comprehensive suite of projector management applications.

“Our customers have been looking for a cost effective way to achieve brightness in the 15,000 to 20,000 lumen range while maintaining a short throw length and low power requirement,” said Koichi Ara, Senior Manager Display Solution Business Promotion Division. “The Scalable software solution together with our NP Installation Series projectors is a perfect combination.”

Packed with power and a full lineup of features, these NP Installation Series models can take on the most demanding integration projects in corporate boardrooms, education lecture halls and public display environments. The NP Installation Series projectors can be seen at InfoComm 09 (NEC Display Solutions Booth No. 5001) on June 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

“The significant increase in availability of 3D movies and digital signage is driving demand for dual-stack projector solutions. The combination of two NP Installation Series projectors with the Scalable software, polarized filters and polarized glasses allows for very clear and bright 3D displays,” said Rajeev Surati, President of Scalable Display Technologies, Inc. “High brightness digital signage is easy and economical to deploy with this new solution,” he said.
