Thursday 04. June 2009 - Sappi Fine Paper Europe is launching the fifth title of its "Life with Print" series of books. ‘Engaging New Generations in the Media Mix’ was for the occasion presented at the 2009 Festival of Media in Valencia, Spain, on 20th April 2009.

Today’s world of communication is full of changes and challenges. Different target groups require different marketing solutions. Digital media such as the Internet, mobile phones and social networks is interpreted differently by those who grew up with digital technology, and those who have had to adapt. These two groups are often called “digital natives and immigrants”.

To demonstrate that Sappi is practising these mixed approaches, this book is not only printed but also audio, video and graphics files which can be downloaded for free via a QR code printed on the bookmark inside the book. Instant access is possible by simply taking a photograph of the code with a mobile phone.

‘Engaging New Generations in the Media Mix’ contains facts and figures of media consumption across the globe and interviews with influential figures in the advertising, communication and marketing fields such as Marc Bresseel, Microsoft Advertising or Chris Anderson, Editor-in-Chief, Wired Magazine.
Peter Tielemans, Marketing Communications and Business Development Manager at Sappi Fine Paper Europe said: “Consumers nowadays want to be heard, not to be told. Integrated media deliver numerous solutions and ideas to meet this demand so that communication can work both ways. ‘Engaging New Generations’ provides insights not only into latest trends but ways in which the industry is creatively responding to rapid changes.”

Sappi chose the Festival of Media to launch its ‘Engaging New Generations in the Media Mix’ book because it provides an international platform to discuss and explore new business relationships in a world of convergence, funded content and global deals.
