FESPA Mexico Key Industry Event for 2009

Wednesday 13. May 2009 - FESPA Mexico 2009, taking place at the Centro Banamex, Mexico City* from 27th - 29th August 2009, is considered this year’s must-attend screen and digital printing event in the region, with already over 60% of exhibition space confirmed.

In the challenging economic climate, many of the region’s leading manufacturers are choosing FESPA Mexico as the only 2009 event at which they will exhibit, testament to FESPA’s market-leading reputation and proven track record of delivering high calibre shows. Confirmed exhibitors include EFI-VUTEk, Hewlett Packard México along with leading distributors representing international brands in the sign-making and digital and screen printing industries, such as Celupal Internacional, DT Tec, Rodatec, Euroneon, Plastimundo, Avance y Tecnología en Plásticos, Fauna Insumos Digitales.

Frazer Chesterman, Managing Director, FESPA comments: “We had excellent feedback from exhibitors and visitors following FESPA Mexico 2008, having successfully grown the event, which we bought from a third party, by 34%, and are firmly committed to building on that success. Feedback from the local print community confirms that printers believe they cannot afford to miss FESPA Mexico as the show to attend in 2009.”

Chesterman continues: “According to our World Wide Survey, Mexicans are the most optimistic about market growth when compared to Thailand and the rest of the world. There is great scope in both screen and digital in Mexico with growth expected at 7-10% in Latin America overall.”

Well known for its top-notch conference sessions, the FESPA Mexico 2009 seminar programme will feature sessions on a range of topics providing visitors the opportunity to learn industry best practice and interact with experts. The programme comprises technical sessions, marketing and sales seminars as well as information on the latest trends. Industry veteran Charlie Taublieb, world-renowned for his creative screen printing techniques, whose sessions at FESPA Mexico 2008 ran at full capacity, has already confirmed his participation.

For the first time, FESPA will run the FESPA Mexico Awards, recognising outstanding examples of innovation in screen and digital printing across a broad spectrum of real-life applications. Open to Mexican printers, entries will be displayed at the exhibition and judged onsite. The five main categories include screen printing, digital printing, garment decoration, vehicle wrapping, and outdoor signage and several sub-categories mean that a total of 11 awards are up for grabs.
