Oce Offers ARC PlanWell EasyPrint Enabled Printers
Monday 04. May 2009 - Integration enhances FM productivity by making it easier to print documents directly at construction job sites
Oce, an international leader in digital document management, today announced that it is releasing an integration between its most popular monochrome print devices for facilities management (FM) applications, including the new Oce PlotWave(R) 300 system, and ARC’s PlanWell EasyPrint(TM) software. This new functionality enables users at FM locations to easily print drawing files that are located in a PlanWell(R) online planroom using the interface of the Oce device. From the Oce printer interface, it’s easy to navigate to the PlanWell planroom, select entire document sets, view and print them directly to the Oce device.
“Oce is pleased to announce support for the PlanWell EasyPrint application,” said Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Oce North America. “With ARC’s innovative software, architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) customers now have the ability to print directly to a local Oce printer from the ARC online planroom, saving the time and cost associated with printing documents at a central location and shipping them to a job site.
“Coupling a printer and an online planroom where documents are stored creates a powerful on-demand system for acquiring prints at a moment’s notice, regardless of location,” said Jon Styrlund, product manager for PlanWell EasyPrint. “While the application has been available on other devices for some time, we expect even wider adoption by combining it with some of Oce’s best and most popular equipment.”
A more efficient way to print
From an Oce printer, a user can select documents located in the PlanWell planroom and, using an intuitive touch-screen display on the Oce PlotWave 300 system, can view and print these documents right on site. This expedites the availability of printed documents in remote locations and provides convenient, quick access to printed plan sets for a reprographer’s FM customers.
The interface to PlanWell EasyPrint is also available for the Oce TDS450 and Oce TDS700 via the Oce PowerLogic(R) controller user interface.
