Tohoku Epson Announces New President

Thursday 30. April 2009 - At today's board meeting of Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson," TSE: 6724), Group company Tohoku Epson Corporation today proposed the appointment of a new president. The appointment is subject to approval at Tohoku Epson's annual general meeting and board meeting scheduled to be held on June 1, 2009.

Change of president

(1) Appointment of director
Ryuhei Miyagawa
(Presently executive officer and chief operating officer of Semiconductor Operations Division, Seiko Epson Corporation. Miyagawa will continue in these positions concurrently with his new position.)
Planned date of appointment: June 1, 2009
Miyagawa is scheduled to be appointed as president of Tohoku Epson Corporation on the same date.
(2) Retirement of president
Torao Yajima
(Presently president, Tohoku Epson Corporation and managing executive officer, Seiko Epson Corporation)
Planned date of retirement: June 1, 2009
Yajima is scheduled to be appointed as a managing director of Seiko Epson Corporation on June 24, 2009.
