KettleTech Inc. today announced they have signed an agreement with RHub Technologies to distribute TurboMeeting products to the Graphics Arts and Communications Industry. TurboMeeting is a router-like product that customers can add to their internal networks to provide WebEx, PcAnywhere, or GotoMeeting type capabilities. The non-ASP product allows a company to now host and brand their own web-conferencing site and offers several standard features, including:
v The ability to display 32-bit color, provide white board capabilities, offer file sharing, and enable session recording;
v Four meeting modes: Interactive Meeting, Seminar, Remote Support, and Remote Access to Host Computer;
v Better Security Features: TurboMeeting uses both SSL and Proprietary Encryption that can be placed inside or outside a users firewall. A user can limit attendees to a specific local network or open a session to the WAN. The user also has the ability to control attendee access by meeting types, IP address, or Meeting ID and Password (most services offer only Meeting ID and Password);
v All TurboMeeting appliances include an audio conference call service at no extra cost, enabling users the option of utilizing this service or choosing another conferencing method.
Reliable and Accelerated Performance
Because TurboMeeting attaches to the customers network, there is no up link to a hosted (ASP) system thus avoiding all the delays inherent to such systems. Response times are three to four times faster and there is a far less risk of dropping the data link during a demo. Users can host or attend meetings using any internet browser on both Apple and PC computer platforms.
Named Top 10 Hot Test Center Products of the First Quarter
In naming TurboMeeting a Q1 top 10 hot product, ChannelWeb.com stated, “
the TM-200 [TurboMeeting] is nearly effortless to install. Connection consists of running a network cable between the LAN and the device and plugging in the power adapter. After installation, all we had to do was log on to the device from a Web browser on the network and finish the configuration. Within minutes, we had a meeting up and running with attendees being able to see everything on the host’s computer screen that they wanted seen.”
User Quote
“As a former WebEx client, who needs to accommodate Mac and PC based customers, I evaluated all the options available today and found that RHub was the most cost effective solution that had all the features I needed to serve my customers for remote demonstrations and troubleshooting sessions,” notes Henry Wagner, Chief Technology Officer, Innovation Printing & Communications. “One of the key features is that our clients do not need to download and install anything to participate in a remote session. This has resulted in a better experience that reflects well on our company. In addition I can say that I have not experienced the lag time that other solutions do, especially when the session is attended by multiple clients. The installation of the appliance was painless and there has been no maintenance necessary. I would recommend it to anyone, except my competitors.”
