Metso to enhance its HR and finance service center concept gradually global

Tuesday 21. April 2009 - Metso will establish an HR service center in Tampere, Finland, to serve its units in Europe. Once the European center has been launched by the end of 2009, regional HR service centers will be established in North America, South America and Asia in 2010-2011.

HR service centers are a part of the ongoing HR process and organizational development. The goal is to unify and make our HR operating model more effective so that it better responds to business demands. Also the operations of our finance service centers have been decided to expand into new areas. The finance service centers in Finland and Sweden have operated since 2003 and the finance service center in North America since 2004. The operations of current finance and HR service centers have developed according to plans and goals set to them regarding operational efficiency and streamlining have been achieved. The centers’ operations are supported by shared administrative and infrastructure services. In the future, the service center concept can cover even other support functions.

Juha Seppälä has been appointed Senior Vice President, Metso Service Centers. Seppälä is currently Senior Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions and ERP development at Mining and Construction Technology.
