Tuesday 17. March 2009 - Olav de Glas, general director at Haarmans, noticed how digital printing had become less expensive and more technically more refined.

The combination of this evolution with the improved CRM packages pushed the demand for personalised printing and smaller order numbers. As Haarmans only had offset presses at its disposal, it could not deliver smaller print orders at a cost efficient price without reducing the quality.

When researching various digital presses to meet its customers’ demand, they soon turned to HP Indigo. Haarmans installed the six-colour HP Indigo press 5500 that guarantees optimal representation of PANTONE Colours. It also opted for the HP Smart Stream Designer.

Mr. de Glas emphasises that this is the best strategic choice it could have made to complement its offset services with digital services: “Only the HP Indigo press 5500 delivers the quality we and our customers expect. We can now deliver smaller print orders at a cost efficient price and personalise the printing. Haarmans has entered the digital age with the HP Indigo press 5500.”
