REMOTE MACHINE MANAGEMENT

The Research & Development Division of the Italian company has setup a revolutionary innovation.
Being able of viewing the state of the machine, analysing and saving production data and operating on recipes so as to set and load the job into the machine – all that carried out without having physically to be in front of the machine, but from a remote place through computer:
This is the extraordinary novelty set up by the Research & Development Division of the Italian company leading the market of printing presses and converting machines,
OMET, which is already available on the top-selling jewels: Varyflex and X-Flex. No doubt it is a project which is absolutely in the fore front and constitutes a further added value of OMETs technology for its customers.
This revolutionary innovation is based on special software which is composed of an executable application to be installed on the remote computer, from which it will be possible to access the machine. The software, working as a client, send inquiries (messages) about reading and writing the variables allocated in the memory of the machine main PLC (working as a server) through the ethemet network on the machine.
The supervision PC shall be connected to a switch on the main electric board of the machine or directly joined through the router used for remote assistance which ensures the machine access to the network from computers that do not belong to such a domain.
The application is mainly composed of three sections with different functionalities:
1. STATE of the MACHINE: all the information on the present state of the machine can be visualised as if you were in front of the operators panel.
2. PRODUCTION DATA: it is possible to acquire data concerning the machine productivity in this section (on command or continuous scanning), allowing to save them in external calculation sheets that may be easily analysed and handled using the most widespread office suites.
3. RECIPE MANAGEMENT: bidirectional, machine <> office.
Thanks to this software it is possible to:
a) save the jobs, prepared on the machine, on the supervisor PC – working as “historical record” – so that the memory (limited to 100 recipes) is expanded infinitely and works as back-up
b) transfer previously saved recipes into the machine again
c) directly edit the recipes of the jobs to be carried out in the machine on the supervision PC and then unload them into the memory of the machine control system, from which the operator can recall them easily. That allows separating the preparation tasks (organizer) and job execution (printer).
