Harrier LLC Installs HP Indigo 7000 Digital Presses To Manage Seasonal Demand

Tuesday 03. March 2009 - HP today announced that Harrier LLC, provider of leading UK digital photo service, Truprint, has installed two HP Indigo 7000 Digital Presses to increase high-volume production capabilities.

The technology investment was particularly critical to Harrier LLC during the Christmas holiday season, when the company experiences a significant increase in demand.

“Christmas is our peak-season and throughout the preceeding months, we cannot afford any downtime or quality inconsistancies,” said James Belton, corporate development manager, Harrier LLC. “The HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press is not only reliable but capable of such fast turnaround times that this new technology has enabled us to better meet our customers’ requirements. We supply a vast range of photo products, such as calendars, cards, photobooks and mugs, on an individual print-on-demand basis. This means our print volumes are always very high, but the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Presses are extremely hard working and produce high-quality results time and again, on a wide variety of substrates.”

The two HP Indigo 7000 Digital Presses complement Harrier LLC’s existing digital print technology, including two HP Indigo press 5000s, HP Designjet Z6100s, HP Designjet Z3100, and HP Designjet Z2100 printers.

“The majority of our customers are large online brands and retailers and it is essential that we can provide them with consistently high-quality products. One of the reasons for investing in HP printing systems was the exceptional and reliable photo quality delivered by HP products. With HP Indigo ElectroInk technology, the presses offer a wide colour gamut and accurate colour matches for near silver-halide quality. In my opinion, this makes HP the current leader in the digital printing market,” said Belton.

Harrier LLC is an environmentally responsible organisation and the features of the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press are well aligned with the company’s environmental policies. These features include reduced power consumption, an imaging oil recycling system and longer consumables lifespan that result in reduced waste.

Belton said, “This recent technology investment supports our current enviornmental policies and production requirements, but we anticpate that it will also help us to meet our plans for the future of the business. Harrier LLC aims to be the number one photo-gift provider in the UK and the speed, efficiency and quality delivered by HP products is central to our existing and future capabilities.”

Harrier LLC is the UK subsidiary of District Photo. Based in Newton Abbot, Devon, Harrier LLC was established in 1999 and currently operates with 120 permanent employees.
