Chromocard graphical board improved

Friday 20. February 2009 - As the year 2009 started the quality of Stora Enso's graphical board Chromocard was improved in a number of ways. The board features quicker ink setting times, higher stiffness, smoother reverse and an attractive bluer shade.

“Ink setting is one thing that we have particularly focused on in our development efforts. Now the ink setting time on Chromocard’s top-side is much quicker than before, facilitating an excellent print result and increased production efficiency at the print house. The board is ideal for merchants, as it is performs very well with different printing and finishing techniques,” says Olle Rudström, Product Manager at Stora Enso Fors Mill.

The whiteness and brightness of Chromocard remain on the same high level as before. The shade is slightly bluer, which gives a positive impression. The stiffness of the board has increased by 5% and the smoothness on the reverse side has been significantly improved. All feedback from customer trials has been very positive.

Chromocard is typically used for high-quality graphical products such as covers, postcards, greeting cards, calendars and CD and DVD covers. The enhanced Chromocard ’09 is available in the grammage range of 180 to 260 gsm. “For higher grammage applications we recommend the high-bulk version Chromocard HB,” Rudström adds.
