NewPage Announces New Packaging and Collateral for Digital Papers

Wednesday 18. February 2009 - NewPage Corporation launched today new printed collateral that contains extensive information about its digital coated papers' capabilities.

The launch consists of a new digital swatchbook featuring premium through economy grades: Futura(R) Laser, Sterling(R) Ultra Digital(TM), Productolith Pts. Digital(TM) and Blazer Digital(R). Also included is a digital capabilities brochure, a product guide specifically for HP Indigo users, sell sheets and product sample kits. Additionally, NewPage announced that in early 2009, there will be new packaging designs for each product featuring a color coded pixelized graphic for each grade that will match the associated collateral for overall branding consistency.

As a leader in North American digital coated paper technology, NewPage continues its commitment to research and development in designing papers for the latest digital applications. NewPage digital coated papers are optimized to give unmatched runnability and productivity on any digitally imaged job. Precision cut to reduce paper jams, and packaged in moisture barrier packages, all four brands enhance digital printing performance by ensuring excellent toner adhesion, image quality and performance through to bindery.

All NewPage digital papers carry a digital imaging guarantee, and products for HP Indigo and Kodak NEXPRESS are certified through RIT for adherence to the hardware manufacturer’s specifications. “After almost a year’s work of integrating legacy Stora Enso North America and NewPage digital brands, we are proud to present a line up of products that meet virtually every digital printing need,” said Michelle Garrett, manager, Marketing Strategy for Digital Papers. “Today’s digital printing business is application driven, and NewPage has technology optimized papers that produce offset quality results.”

Beyond quality and reliability, Futura Laser, Productolith Pts. Digital and Sterling Ultra Digital are triple chain-of-custody certified (available as FSC, SFI or PEFC), while Blazer Digital is dual certified (SFI and PEFC) to guarantee that all wood fiber is legally harvested from verifiable sources. Sterling Ultra Digital and Productolith Pts. Digital also contain 10 percent post-consumer recycled fiber.
