ABnote Announces 33.9% EBITDA Growth

Wednesday 18. February 2009 - American Banknote S.A. (Bovespa: ABNB3 - ON), the leader in solutions involving plastic cards, identification systems and print service management in the markets where it operates, announces its results for the full year 2008 and the fourth quarter of 2008 (4Q08).

Except where stated otherwise, the financial and operational information herein is presented on a consolidated basis including direct and indirect subsidiaries, Trust, Transtex, Interprint, Tecnoformas and Incard, in accordance with Brazilian Corporate Law.

Highlights of the Period
— Net Revenue of R$678.7 million, 46.9% up on 2007;


— Adjusted EBITDA came to R$166.2 million, 33.9% up on the R$ 124.1 million in 2007;

— Successful entry into the smart cards business. In 2008, smart cards represented 1.2% of volume and 13.8% of revenues from the cards division;

— Adjusted Net Income grew for the eleventh consecutive year, coming to R$ 74.3 million;

— Payment of dividends amounting to R$ 25.6 million, with a dividend yield of 4.7%;

— Plant’s relocation and consolidation concluded;
— SA8000 international certification for corporate social responsibility.
