HP Designjet H45500 Printer

Tuesday 17. February 2009 - HP today announced the installation of the first HP Designjet H Series Printer in Ireland at Sattal Print and Promotional Solutions, of Dublin.

Sattal, a Groprint company, has quickly evolved from a traditional litho printer into a modern print service provider with 26 employees. Offering conventional and digital commercial printing to customers in the financial, automotive, food and drink and retail sector, Sattal provides a full range of wide format products including signage, displays and bunting as well as warehousing and delivery services.

Previously, Sattal only printed flexible wide format products, but the addition of the HP Designjet H45500 Printer means that it can print rigid substrates and eliminate the mounting and lamination processes, making its workflow more efficient and cost-effective. The use of UV-curable ink means products can be finished or delivered as soon as they are printed, enabling higher productivity and more effective use of personnel and equipment.

“Our customers expect high quality printed products for display use in their premises and that are suitable for close viewing,” said William Ryan, partner and production director, Sattal. “We were pleased with our existing HP Indigo press 5500 and HP Designjet 8000 Printer, so when we decided to upgrade our previous wide format printer, we immediately went to see what HP offered for that sector. There have been huge developments in print quality in the decade since we bought our first large format printer.”

The HP Designjet H45500 Printer is a 1.37m (54″) wide format device with production speeds up to 36m2/hour and can handle both rigid and flexible media, up to 2.54cm (1″) in thickness. Using piezo-electric print heads, the H45500 Printer uses UV-curable ink and prints to up to 1200 x 600dpi, for high quality results.

“We’ve got a clear market strategy,” said Ryan, “and we know the quality our customers expect. The potential for adding value and offering a better service with our new HP Designjet printer is a clear fit with that strategy.”

Diatec Graphic Arts, Dublin, is the agent for HP Designjet H Printer series in Ireland.
