FESPA rallies printing community to Amsterdam for innovation, education and inspiration

Wednesday 04. February 2009 - FESPA rallies printing community to Amsterdam for innovation, education and inspiration

FESPA is using a vibrant and provocative ‘Revolution’ campaign theme to rally the wide-format printing community to its FESPA Digital 2009 event in Amsterdam (12 – 14 May 2009, RAI).

To kick off the campaign, FESPA is calling for printers to nominate digital ‘Revolutionaries’, industry colleagues whom they consider to produce ground-breaking work, who have ventured into new markets or embraced cutting edge technologies, or who have differentiated themselves with radical business models or services to their clients.

To nominate a ‘Revolutionary’, printers simply need to visit www.fespadigital.com and click on ‘Nominate’, from March 2009. Those who nominate a ‘Revolutionary’ will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPod Touch or one of three revolutionary guitars, The Gibson Les Paul, The Fender Stratocaster or The Classic Acoustic. The ‘Revolutionaries’ themselves may have the opportunity to participate in workshops or seminar events at FESPA in Amsterdam.

This rallying cry is just one element of a multi-channel ‘Revolution’ campaign featuring a Che Guevara-style icon and using an innovative array of viral marketing tactics to spread the word about FESPA Digital 2009.

FESPA Sales & Marketing Director Marcus Timson explains the thinking behind the campaign and the call for nominations: “Ours is a creative and dynamic community of entrepreneurs, and they are at the heart of a revolution, pushed by advances in technology and pulled by the rapidly changing demands of brand owners and their consumers.”

“The ‘Revolution’ theme reflects FESPA’s mission to deliver thought-provoking events that interpret these revolutionary changes for printers. FESPA Digital 2009 gives them a world-class forum where they can discover innovation, seek information and find inspiration that will help them embrace the opportunities that come with this tide of change.”

Timson adds: “By prompting printers to nominate someone who they see as a Revolutionary in their field, we can come together in Amsterdam to celebrate some real-life examples of the kind of entrepreneurial or creative brilliance that drives our industry and can help printers to thrive, even in a challenging economic climate.”
