PANTONE COLOUR SEMINARS GREAT SUCCESS

Tuesday 03. February 2009 - Over 300 people attended the Pantone Colour seminars in Manchester, Birmingham and London in the last week of January.

Paul Graham from Pantone declared, “as the world leader in colour it is important to Pantone that designers and pre-press professionals understand how to communicate colour in a digital world. These seminars are part of our strategy to help our users achieve consistently accurate colour.”

The seminars were based around a two hour training session from Bodoni Systems on the principles of colour management. These two hour sessions are a small part of the Bodoni two-day course “ISO 12647 for Print and Design”

Amongst other issues attendees were shown
the difference between assigning and converting profiles
how to set up their applications to produce consistent accurate colour
the basics of monitor profiling
how to measure and test the monitors
how to measure and test proofs
the ISO 12647-2 standard for press sheets.

Delegates were also given an overview of the advantages of changing over to Pantone’s Goe System for selecting and communicating colours.

Natalie Sullivan of DesignFXStudio said “I just wanted to say thank you for your training seminar this morning, it was a great help too me. I learnt a lot.”

Peter Sandeman from 3Sixty Creative commented, “Thanks for a really useful seminar. Although I was worried it could be very dull, Lee managed to make it interesting and engaging, particularly the information about how to set up the Adobe suite correctly – something I have never before been able to find a straight answer about.”

Natalie and Peter’s responses have been typical of the feedback we have received over the four days. We enjoyed the workshops and we are glad the participants that you did too.
