BPIF BRIEFINGS AT NORTHPRINT TO BUILD A BETTER BUSINESS

Wednesday 28. January 2009 - Free sessions and independent individual advice

Printers attending Northprint (21st-23rd April, Harrogate) can take advantage of free expert advice to help them succeed in adverse trading conditions. The BPIF and Print Yorkshire have teamed up to present a series of briefings at the exhibition.

The briefings cover a range of topics which give practical advice on taking control of a business to protect its financial health and how to implement straightforward techniques to improve cashflow, productivity and profitability.

Print Yorkshire is the regional networking organisation for the printing industry, sponsored by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward. It aims to ensure that the print and printed packaging industry in Yorkshire and the Humber maintains its position as a major national player. It is also recognised as a ‘voice’ of print, both nationally and internationally.

The free briefings will take place during the first two days of Northprint and on the following subjects:

Are you doing enough to survive?
There has never been a better time for a federation, which is focused on protecting the people and industry it works for, to launch a service to help members to take financial control of their businesses.

BPIF Financial Alliance helps its members to protect the health and wealth of their businesses by offering advice in areas such as finance, mergers and acquisitions, credit insurance, credit control and risk and tax issues.

Free one-to-one confidential consultations and advice will be available at the BPIF stand to address specific health and wealth issues.

Print Yorkshire – Working for printers in 2009
Working in conjunction with the BPIF, this briefing will show the scope of Print Yorkshire, how printers can get involved and the broad range of solutions that can be accessed through partnerships with the BPIF and others.

Lean and Cost Keen
Vision in Print engineers will show how printers and packagers can, and have, cut costs and waste to massively improve their profitability by using straightforward lean process improvement techniques. The briefing will show how to improve cash flow, productivity and profitability to gain a sustainable, competitive edge in this difficult financial environment.

Carbon footprinting in the printing industry
With the launch of the Carbon Trust’s new PAS 2050 (Publicly Available Specification), the BPIF will show how its new carbon calculator can provide printers with a standard methodology to give a carbon footprint for printed products or for a factory site, and where the BPIF can assist with carbon offsetting.

Funding for training
This session will advise on print specific training and the funding to support it.
