Modern International Graphics Wins 41 Awards in Ohio Print Excellence Contest

Tuesday 27. January 2009 - Officials at Modern International Graphics, Inc. (Modern) announced today that the company was awarded forty-one 2009 Print Excellence Awards from the Printing Industries Association, Inc., serving Northern Kentucky and Ohio (PIANKO).

“Our members and the customers they represent should be incredibly proud with their winning pieces,” said PIANKO president Jim Cunningham. “Although the difficult economic times slightly reduced the number of entries, the creativity and quality made the judge’s selections incredibly hard.”

Each year, PIANKO holds its Print Excellence Awards Competition to reward Ohio and Northern Kentucky printers that demonstrate excellence in 34 categories. Winners of the gold award in the regional competition are also entered in an association-wide competition to select Best of Category and Best of Show prizes. Modern had 14 gold award winners that will be included. In addition, Modern won 10 silver awards and 17 bronze.

“We’re thrilled with the results for a number of reasons,” said Modern president David Margiotta. “First, it’s always rewarding to be given an opportunity to do great work for our customers. And to have won the number of awards we did speaks volumes about the consistent quality of our work, in general. It’s a great statement — a testimony.”

Modern made 50 entries and received 41 awards in the competition. Modern also received the People’s Choice Award for the second year in a row. Modern received the award for the corporate brochure they printed for Collins & Dupont Interior Design of Bonita Springs, Florida. The winner was selected by popular vote of the attendees at the awards ceremony, Saturday, January 17.
