Magink Expands Outdoor Media Footprint in Europe

Friday 16. January 2009 - Eco-Friendly Technology Enables Remote Copy Change for Sign & Vision Limited; Less Intrusive Display Is Ideal Fit for Community Settings

Magink, the world’s first developer and provider of full color reflective digital ink displays, today announced the expansion of its outdoor media solution throughout Europe with the latest billboard installation in Wieselburg, Austria. The technology, chosen by Sign and Vision Limited, a leader in outdoor advertising, was selected for its digital capabilities allowing advertisers to change copy based on time of day for the most effective targeting. Additionally, Magink’s revolutionary reflective tiles emit less light than traditional LED billboards, making it ideally suited for businesses targeting residential cities and towns.
“Magink’s digital technology is truly revolutionary in the world of outdoor media,” said Hannes Schmutterer, CEO for Sign and Vision Limited. “Our designers can produce content and transfer to an outdoor billboard within minutes, and have the ability to change displays at any given point — both critical factors that improve the return on investment for any advertisement.”
Sign and Vision Limited was looking for digital technology that would blend with the surrounding areas which was critical since their billboards often target residential communities. Magink’s environmentally-friendly technology minimizes the objections raised by environmentalists, regulatory bodies and local residents since it provides a natural and non-intrusive visual experience.
“Outdoor media companies are always looking for effective new ways to grow their businesses and generate additional revenue from prime locations,” said Ronen Zexer, CEO of Magink. “Our technology, which displays both print and video advertisements, enables an environmentally-friendly, remote copy change so these ads can literally be changed up to the minute for real-time advertising.”
