Books-A-Million Selects Reflexis Retail Execution Management Solutions

Monday 12. January 2009 - Reflexis Systems Inc. today announced that Books-A-Million (NYSE: BAMM) has selected Reflexis Retail Execution Management solutions to improve customer service, increase productivity, and control labor costs. Books-A-Million, which is the premier book retailer in the southeastern U.S. and the third largest in the nation, will implement the solutions in all of its superstores, traditional stores, and newsstands.

After a thorough review, Books-A-Million selected Reflexis Task Manager, StoreWalk, KPI Activator, and Workforce Manager over solutions from three other software providers.

“In this challenging retail environment, it is critical to maximize the efficiency of the store level workforce,” said Dennis Lyons, Executive Vice President of Store Operations. “Reducing store salaries in response to tough sales can have negative ramifications if done incorrectly. In order to benefit our shareholders, customers, and associates, it is important to understand the specific labor needs of every store. The workload given to stores must be managed upstream in the home office so that key tasks are accomplished and the right amount of time is allocated and scheduled for sales and customer interaction. We are confident that Reflexis gives us the tools to accomplish these goals.”

“Retailers looking to increase sales and control costs continue to embrace our solutions,” said Kevin Paolino, Vice President of Sales for Reflexis. “Books-A-Million is the 11th Retailer within the past 18 months to recognize that workforce management must be treated as part, and not the end, of the larger execution challenge. Point workforce management solutions cannot provide long-term competitive advantage. Reflexis is the only company to provide a solution that enables retailers to solve their execution challenges in a comprehensive, profitable, and sustainable manner.”
