Acacia Subsidiary Enters into a Settlement and License Agreement with Hewlett-Packard

Wednesday 31. December 2008 - Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq:ACTG) announced today that its subsidiary, Data Network Storage LLC, has entered into a settlement and license agreement with the Hewlett-Packard Company covering a patent portfolio that relates to storage area networks.

This agreement resolves patent litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
