PLASTIC CONTAINERS – THE NEW WAY
Tuesday 30. December 2008 - The most significant packaging redesign of infant formula powder containers has been launched to offer convenience and ease to mothers in milk formula preparation for their children, and when it came to packaging the formula into the revolutionary new square, PET container, PLF International, UK was chosen to supply its flexible, gentle vacuum powder filling machine.
With no moving parts in direct contact with the product, and the gentlest product handling, the PLF vacuum filling application was the natural choice for such an innovative new product offering. Although vacuum would usually not be chosen for a container that may collapse under vacuum pressure, the unique PLF machine and filling head design allows the most fragile container to be filled gently, with high accuracy, no pack distortion or product degradation.
The launch of the product in two container sizes, across a wide range of formula recipes has also been assisted by PLFs rapid product changeover capability and high hygiene, low maintenance design.
The PLF machine has the ability to fill any type and shape of rigid container with any type of granular or powder product – on one machine – leading to flexibility for users to fill cans, plastic, glass and composite containers.
