Art on Demand: Custom-Printed For Your Living Room
Tuesday 30. December 2008 - Canon Australia, in partnership with specialist imaging supplier Foto Riesel, has today launched an exciting, new and unique imaging experience store in Sydney.
As one of the store’s key offerings, Foto Riesel and Canon offer consumers exclusive access to Art on Demand. Extremely popular in Europe but new to Australia, Art on Demand is an innovative product that allows consumers to choose from an extensive bank of thousands of renowned artworks and to customise the chosen work to their preferred size and material, including photographic paper, canvas, water-coloured paper and silk fabric. The store also provides off-premises framing services and will stock artwork hanging systems.
Art on Demand allows consumers to enjoy previously expensive and inaccessible works-of-art in their own living room. This unique offering holds special appeal to the burgeoning do-it-yourself interior decorating market where high-end imaging and theming is now an affordable reality. Artworks range from classical, modern and contemporary paintings to artistic photography.
The new Foto Riesel Sydney store features the first Art on Demand kiosk in Australia, allowing consumers to choose and print their image right from the store. Over the coming year, Canon and Foto Riesel plan to widen their offering to include 300 kiosks throughout Australia and New Zealand.
All artworks have been digitalised at the highest quality resolutions and with the most advanced digital technology to preserve the full colour, realism and impact of the original works. All Art on Demand images are printed exclusively on the impressive Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8100 large format inkjet printer and with Canon paper and inks to ensure superior quality in every print. Artworks will be resistant to scratching and discolouration by water and light thanks to the printer’s UV pigmented ink cartridges.
Costs per print are calculated instantly for the consumer once they decide what size and material they require.
