December 2008 - Spartanics, a leading manufacturer of high precision laser cutting machines, die cutters, plastic card punching and inspection systems, among other high throughput equipment for finishing flat stock material, today announces the appointment of Mike Bacon as Spartanics VP of Sales and Marketing.

Mr. Bacon is returning to Spartanics where his previous work as Western Regional Sales Manager (1998 ñ 2002) and International Sales Manager (2002 ñ 2005) set repeated sales records for the company.

Tom OíHara, Spartanics President comments, ìWe are delighted that Mike is bringing his in-depth understanding of the graphic arts and converting industries to bear on the success of the worldwide Spartanicsí sales effort. In the past, Mike was a leading contributor to getting the then fledgling Spartanics visual inspection technology defined as the gold standard in the worldwide card manufacturing industry. Today, we have several Spartanics engineering breakthroughs similarly poised to redefine industry standards. For example, the continuing innovations in Spartanics Finecut laser cutting machines now enable digital printers and others to cut at the rate of 90 m/minute+ without any of the quality issues of earlier generation technology. And, Spartanics also now has a super-compact card puncher that will enable newcomers to quickly establish a niche in printed card products with relatively modest upfront equipment investments. Machines for fully automating gasket manufacture, card manufacture and moreóour engineering group continues to roll out superior systems for a wide range of industries. Mike has a nuanced understanding of how these and other Spartanics engineering innovations will help our customers succeed. We anticipate that Mike will lead the way for Spartanicsí machines and systems to become recognized worldwide, again and again, as defining the standards for best-in-class.î
