Thursday 11. December 2008 - The Supervisory Board of Continental AG extended the contract of Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, Executive Board chairman and head of the Automotive Group, by five years on Wednesday in Hanover.

Dr. Neumann has been a member of Continental’s Executive Board since October 2004 and the chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG since September 1, 2008.

Dr. Neumann, who holds a doctor’s degree in electrical engineering, joined Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg in 1999 after working at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits and Sys tems, Duisburg (1989-1993) and at Motorola GmbH (1993-1999) in Munich and Austin, Texas. There, he headed electronics research and the corporate-wide electronics strategy, as well as other areas.
