Mason’s moves to new larger Midlands warehouse

Friday 21. November 2008 - Underlining PaperCo’s commitment to local service, Mason’s Paper has opened a new 29,000 sq ft warehouse in Birmingham to enhance the range and depth of stock it can provide to its Midlands customers.

All staff have transferred to the new premises two miles from the previous site and three new warehousemen have been recruited. Other positions will be available in due course as the branch establishes new shift patterns to complement the 24 hour operational facility.

“This is great news for printers in this region who will benefit from a faster and more comprehensive service,” says regional director Alan Chalkley. “We will hold up to 2,000 tonnes of paper at any one time and the new computer controlled stock management system we are currently installing will allow us to pick and pack from 3,000 pallet spaces.”

The leasehold premises improve accessibility to a greater range of products for same day delivery. Mason’s Paper has always had local stockholding and this has been key to the strong relationship with customers, built up on trust and reliability.

PaperCo provides the perfect example of a national brand delivered locally. Its local focus sets it distinctively apart from any competing business. A national network of 22 sales and distribution centres, strategically located throughout the country, provides a logistical framework unmatched by any other merchant, while its 600,000 sq ft of warehousing ensures paper stocks are closer to the point of delivery – exactly where they are needed.
