Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Renews Contract With AT&T

Friday 14. November 2008 - Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), the world's leading solution provider for commercial and industrial customers in the print media industry, has renewed its contract with AT&T for the provision of data communication and network services.

The new contract will run for three years and is worth $9.1 million. Since 2002, AT&T has provided the global network for Heidelberg, which connects around 170 sites throughout the world.

The contract renewal covers 68 existing locations in Europe, the USA and Asia. In addition to these locations, AT&T will support another 105 branches and plants worldwide that were previously administered by various other telecommunication service providers. For Heidelberg, support from one source not only means optimum cost control, it also has the advantage of consolidating and harmonizing the entire global network.

AT&T offers Heidelberg a uniform and highly available service throughout the world. Through this contract, the latest network connection technologies will be implemented to enable a high degree of flexibility, growth and cost efficiency.

“Based on the existing cooperation, it was an easy decision for us to hand over responsibility for our worldwide company network to AT&T once more,” said Michael Neff, CIO Heidelberg. “For our strategic applications, we need a network provider with extensive experience and high technological competence. One of the determining factors behind us renewing our contract was the high availability of the existing network. Over the last six years, AT&T has convinced us by its reliability.”

“We are pleased to work with Heidelberg as a strategic IT service provider and support the leading provider in the print media industry with our services,” said Joachim Kathmann, Vice President AT&T Germany and Central Europe. “This contract is yet another example of how AT&T can help international companies communicate with each other faster and more efficiently on a solid platform.”
