New SpoonLidzTM Offers an Inexpensive Sustainable Spoon for Single-Serve Cups Which Converts From Lid to Convenient Spoon in One Fold

Friday 07. November 2008 - SpoonLidz announced the launch of a new sustainable spoon that is included as part of the package. SpoonLidz is perfect for yogurt, pudding, parfaits, cottage cheese, applesauce, baby food, chili, oatmeal and other single-serve cups.

SpoonLidz satisfies the growing consumer demand for greater levels of eco-friendly, economical, grab-and-go convenience. SpoonLidz is a sustainable over-lid which, in one fold, becomes a sanitary and fun spoon. There is potentially little or no cost added for the consumer.
SpoonLidz is an utterly simple, “why-didn’t-anyone-come-up-with-this-sooner” concept. The cost is a fraction of other on-pack spoons, and has much less impact on the environment because it’s made from a renewable cardstock with a new sustainable, slick, moisture-barrier coating. It can be manufactured easily by larger local printers, minimizing shipping. SpoonLidz allows for the elimination of foil printing and shipping pads, which can offset production costs. In this way, one large yogurt producer actually estimated coming out ahead on cost by adding SpoonLidz. The application on the filling line uses simple, existing technology. And the high quality printing available makes it ideal for printing photos and specialty marketing messages.
