South Florida Sports Fan to Win Ultimate NBA “Insider” Experience

HP today announced a first-of-its-kind relationship with the NBA’s Miami HEAT to name one local fan an “HP Insider” and award him or her a week of behind-the-scenes access to the basketball team.

The contest is a part of HP’s recently announced partnership with the NBA to create integrated initiatives to enhance the game experience for basketball fans.

Beginning today, Miami HEAT fans can visit participating BrandsMart USA, Circuit City and Office Depot stores or www.thehpinsider.com to learn how to enter the video contest, which asks fans why they should be named the first HP Insider. See contest details below.

The winner’s experience will begin courtside at the Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami HEAT game at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Dec. 12, and continue through Dec. 19. Throughout the week, the HP Insider will sit courtside for two home games, travel to the Miami HEAT vs. Memphis Grizzlies game, tour the AmericanAirlines Arena, participate in a HEAT press conference and join HEAT Head Coach Erik Spoelstra for a meal.

“We have amazing fans here in South Florida and our new partnership with HP will take the fan experience to the next level,” said Spoelstra. “We’re looking forward to making the HP Insider part of the team and giving them an insider’s view of the Miami HEAT.”

The HP Insider also will win a collection of HP products – including an HP Pavilion dv4z series mobility notebook, HP Photosmart A826 Home Photo Center and HP Photosmart M547 digital camera – to help capture the behind-the-scenes experience. The HP Insider can use these tools to share blog postings, photos and videos of the week on www.thehpinsider.com, a special site created by HP and Yahoo!.

“We’re giving a Miami HEAT fan unprecedented access to their favorite team and a full range of the latest HP products to enable them to share this experience,” said Engelina Jaspers, vice president, Corporate Marketing – Americas, HP. “We’re delighted to launch the Insider initiative in a city as vibrant and multicultural as Miami.”

The announcement unravels the mystery of the “living Insider” silhouettes that Miami residents have seen in the city and online throughout the month of October. One lucky winner will soon become the Insider, replacing the mysterious silhouette and winning this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Contestants can visit www.thehpinsider.com to register and upload their digital videos demonstrating why they should become the HP Insider. The winner will be selected based on the content of his or her video. The HP Insider contest is only open to legal residents of Miami-Dade County or Broward County, Fla., who are at least 18 years old. The winner must be able to attend prize-related events, including travel with the team, from Dec. 12 to 19.
