The IMA Group at Emballage 2008

Monday 03. November 2008 - At Emballage 2008 the IMA Group will present some innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

More in details, IMA Safe will exhibit the integrated blister line Giant1, IMA Life will show the labelling machine Sensitive 3/T and IMA Safe Line will present for the first time the new stretchbander MS250.

Discover also the new freeze-drying solutions on offer from IMA Edwards: the best in freeze-drying technology, hand-in-hand with the world’s leading name in one-stop aseptic processing and filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

IMA Safe offers the widest range of blister machines on the market, from low to extremely high speed (up to 1,300 blisters/minute) including Precision Gears machines, counting machines manufactured both by IMA and by Nova Packaging Systems and Swiftpack Automation, tube fillers manufactured by Co.ma.di.s. suitable to fill pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and chemical products, horizontal and vertical cartoners manufactured by IMA Safe for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The integrated blister line Giant1 can be considered a perfect alternative for just-in-time production of small and medium batches (up to 350 blisters and 175 cartons/minute). The machine concept has been based on the IMA philosophy of flexibility in operation and changeover combined with easy cleaning and less material/product waste. This has been achieved thanks to reliable feeding systems where IMA has had 30 years experience. The Giant1 can be equipped with the Touch&Change (Small Format Adjustment Drive), the new system supplied by Sick-Stegmann in cooperation with IMA: the change over becomes much more fast and easy.

IMA Life offers machines for washing and sterilising pharmaceutical vials, filling and stoppering machines for aseptic environments, filling and closing machines for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, microdosing machines for aseptic powder filling and, thanks to the acquisition of IMA Edwards, freeze-drying machinery. IMA Life also offers labellers, blowing machines, depackers and traying machines.

The Sensitive 3/T is a completely automatic labelling machine, suitable for applying self-adhesive labels to guarantee the tamper evident sealing of closed, tuck flap cartons. The machine can handle aeroplane or reverse tuck cartons and apply seals of either transparent plastic or paper materials. Its functioning is simple and effective. High reliability and precision in labeling are guaranteed by a self checking control system, with a negative logic. Completely finished throughout in stainless steel, the labeling machine is equipped with PLC and a user-friendly operator interface. The Sensitive 3/T can reach an output up to 350 pieces/minute.

IMA Safe Line offers a complete range of handling and end of line machines for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, cake, confectionery, tea, coffee and tobacco industries.

The MS250 is a new compact, servo driven stretchbander designed for the pharmaceutical industry. Its cantilever structure and the separation of the drive and production units allow easy access for service, maintenance and cleaning. Very quick size changeover, ergonomic change of film reels, production speed up to 60 bundles/minute. As an alternative to the standard Up-stacking infeed system the MS250 can be arranged with a Pick & Place infeed system able to manage a single product or layer as well as collate bundles with several layers. Main features of the Pick & Place are: visual check allowed at any time, missing product check carried out by the vacuum head, empty product at batch end, no minimum queue of products is required.
