Standard Finishing Systems Debuts New Perfect Binder

Thursday 30. October 2008 - Standard Finishing Systems will introduce the Standard Horizon BQ-270C Single-clamp Perfect Binder at Graph Expo in Chicago, October 26-29.

Designed for the short run POD and commercial print book markets, the BQ-270C single-clamp binder features a 10.4″ intelligent color touchscreen control console and an ergonomically-situated digital caliper that measures book thickness and automatically transfers the settings to the binder for quick, automated changeover.

The BQ-270C is designed for single-person production of up to 500 books per hour. The automated set-up process allows truly efficient single-edition POD book production. Together with all other Horizon products, the BQ-270C will be connected to the Horizon i2i Bindery Control System, a JDF-enabled digital workflow that brings complete set-up automation and job status visibility across the bindery.

According to David Reny, executive vice president, Standard Finishing Systems, “Horizon has staked a claim as the unsurpassed leader in perfect binding automation, having deployed more automated binding technology worldwide than any other supplier. The BQ-270C supports that claim further, and continues our strategy to bring productivity, performance, and advanced automation to every corner of the bindery.”
