Heidelberg offers Total Integration at Total Print

Friday 17. October 2008 - Heidelberg is demonstrating at Total Print just how low the cost per copy can go with its Anicolor technology and how it can offer a fully integrated JDF workflow, including Prinect Digital Print Manager, to enable printers to maximise efficiency.

Digital Print Manager enables two way workflow connections into third party equipment including machines from Canon, Hewlett Packard, Kodak and Xerox. This gives digital printing lines the same presetting and data feedback advantages as litho.

A Speedmaster SM 52-4+L Anicolor, a four-colour with coater, is being demonstrated at the show. This CMYK machine has been a top seller for Heidelberg in the UK and this year the company has announced it can also supply Pantone or special colour models and even long perfectors printing both sides of the sheet in one pass.

“We expect to see a greater range of machine configurations installed over the coming months as a result of this,” says Richard Bradley, marketing manager for small format presses. “Anicolor gives printers a profitable production tool, one that will enable them to provide top quality with minimal paper waste. The ability to get the same amount of work out in half the times is what our customers are reporting.”

The press is being fed on stand by a Suprasetter 52 Computer to Plate system. This thermal device is reliable and boasts an output of up to 17 B3 plates an hour.
