Friday 10. October 2008 - Agreement Allows Lowry to Support Warfighter by Providing the Government with Focused Logistics, Total Asset Visibility (TAV) and Integration of Global Supply Chains Using Passive RFID
Lowry Computer Products, one of the nation’s leading RFID solution providers, today announced that they have been selected as one of the vendors to provide Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) Electronic Product Code hardware, software, and professional services to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Coast Guard, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Coalition Partners and other Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The contract, which was awarded to Lowry Computer Products by the Army Contracting Agency Information Technology, E-Commerce, and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4), has a potential value in excess of $75 million based on this multiple award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
Under the terms of this agreement, Lowry Computer Products can provide the Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Army, and any other government agency within the U.S. Department of Defense with the tools necessary to integrate pRFID infrastructures. Lowry’s solution set includes Lowry RFID labels and domestic professional services, CACI International Inc. intercontinental professional services, Bartec/Motorola MC9090-RFID mobile computers, Zebra Technologies RFID printers, Sirit Infinity 510 stationary passive RFID readers and GlobeRanger iMotion Edgeware.
“The Department of Defense is determined to provide the most efficient and productive distribution supply chain possible. By implementing pRFID to support the warfighter, the DoD is leading the industry through the adoption of interoperable and cost efficient technologies to meet the challenges of this complex supply chain”, commented Steve Lowry, Senior Vice President of Lowry. “As a prime contractor, the Lowry team will leverage the strengths of each of its’ business partners to deliver the total solution to the DLA.”
“This award demonstrates the strong partnership forged between Lowry and CACI and several years of collaboration. Our capabilities extend from RFID, biometrics and other identification and tracking technologies, to the professional services driving successful program implementation for DoD,” commented Michael Stango, CACI Integrated Security and Intelligence Solutions. “We look forward to expanding our relationship through execution of this pRFID work and new opportunities in the future.”
“As a total solution provider, Lowry is a great selection for the integration of the Sirit INfinity 510 reader under the DoD contract,” said Norbert Dawalibi, CEO, Sirit Inc.” We look forward to having a strong partner like Lowry working to deploy our industry-leading INfinity 510 reader for DLA pRFID applications.”
Lowry’s RFID expertise in the government sector has been recognized by many divisions of the United States Government. In September 2007, Lowry was awarded a five year, $8.5 million contract by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide RFID printers, labels and maintenance for all CONUS and OCONUS Defense Distribution Centers (DDC). With the award of this most recent DoD contract, Lowry continues its support of our warfighters by providing the government with the essential components for pRFID implementations.
