Cartes ’08: Ingenico Secures Contactless Future

Thursday 09. October 2008 - Market leader showcases contactless security ‘first’ and the widest portfolio of contactless payment solutions at Cartes ‘08

Ingenico will showcase the most comprehensive range of contactless payment solutions at the forthcoming Cartes and Identification 2008 exhibition in Paris this November. Utilising its own unique embedded contactless technology, the Ingenico portfolio of PINpad, wireless and unattended devices are Mastercard PayPass and Visa PayWave certified, guaranteeing the highest levels of security, alongside the unmatched functionality that comes as standard on any one of Ingenico’s market leading terminals.

In a clear example of its security leadership, Ingenico has become the first Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) manufacturer to achieve full industry certification for its integrated PINpad and contactless readers.

The Ingenico contactless range features the flexibility of the PCI-PED certified i3070 and ML30 handheld PinPads – combining a smart card, magnetic card and contactless reader, and offering mobile phone (NFC) payment in a single integrated package. Contactless wireless payment is provided through its GPRS-enabled EFT930 G and Bluetooth compatible EFT930 B, while Ingenico’s unattended contactless solution encompasses the Vending Pass and CAD30 UPT.

“Consumers are increasingly demanding faster, more convenient methods of payment. Anticipating and responding to these changing behaviours is critical for today’s retail and banking brands,” said Joël Chevillard, director of Payment Terminals at Ingenico. “Ingenico is chosen by more businesses across the world because we understand these developing behaviours and the impact they have on existing payment infrastructures and cost bases. Crucially, we also have the solutions to allow customers to take advantage of the commercial opportunities presented by new trends.

“The ML 30 PinPad is an excellent example; radically simplifying the installation of contactless solutions in store, by retaining support for ‘chip and pin’ and magnetic stripe payment in a single device.”

Ingenico will be showcasing the market’s most comprehensive portfolio of contactless payment devices, demonstrating a host of new functionality, including NFC mobile payment via its ML 30 Contactless PINpad, at Cartes’08 on 4th, 5th and 6th November 2008 at Paris Villepinte.
