MT&L Doubles Gift Card Manufacturing Capacity, Improves Distribution Capabilities

Wednesday 08. October 2008 - To meet customer demands for faster turnaround times and greater variety of gift card packages and programs, MT&L has increased its manufacturing space and distribution efficiency to its customers across the U.S.

The expansion doubles production square footage and capacity for closed loop gift cards for its retail and restaurant customers and open loop gift cards. The facility is Tier 1 certified for Visa, MasterCard & Discover prepaid card packaging, warehousing and distribution.

“This expansion provides us with more versatility and flexibility to adapt to customer requirements and allows for greater diversity in the types of solutions we can provide for our customers. We now have more than 100 different kinds of packaging styles and formats we can offer,” said Dave Fehrman, VP of Sales and Marketing, MT&L.

MT&L now has state of the art encoding, imaging and packaging equipment, bringing MT&L’s capacity for card personalization to above two million daily, and packaging capacity to over one million daily. Enhancements were made to manufacturing processes, such as a state of the art gluing system for affixing cards to carriers and providing the most secure package in the market.

The improvements to MT&L’s facilities in Nashville represent a significant boon to the company’s distribution capabilities. Nashville’s central location allows the company to cover 70 percent of the U.S. with two day ground service, saving its customers money on shipping costs and helping ensure that their gift card inventory remains full.

The facility expansion coincides with MT&L increasing its capabilities in the virtual world. The company’s online inventory access system gives its customers access to inventory 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from anywhere in the world. MT&L also provides gift cards solutions for its customers’ websites, helping them capitalize on lucrative growth in the online gift card segment.
