Sidel at Brau – Spotlight on beer

September 2008 - Consulting, engineering, equipment and services: at the upcoming Brau trade show, Sidel will be presenting its solutions for the worlds largest packaging market - beer bottling. Over the years, Sidel has built up well-recognized expertise in the design and construction of complete beer bottling lines and is one of the major world-wide suppliers for the brewing industry.
Sidel will present its latest equipment developments as well as its recent installations of complete beer packaging lines for both glass bottles and metal cans. These projects are based on original, high-performance technologies for filling, pasteurization, labeling, end-of-line and conveying, and they are adapted to the specific needs of each of the worlds regions.
The PET Alternative
While glass bottles and metal cans dominate the market, PET bottles are proving increasingly attractive to brewers. Lightweight, clean, unbreakable, recloseable and 100% recyclable, PET also lets brewers diversify their formats – for larger-sized containers, PET is essential – and shapes. Finally, PET requires less energy during the manufacturing process.
For the past several years, Sidel has viewed PET bottles as a potential stimulus for the world beer market. The Group has contributed to their development by proposing unique solutions. The Combi, a machine that incorporates blowing, filling and capping, has been specially adapted to beer bottling, ensuring unmatched productivity.
