LFP - Large-Format-Printing

MUTOH EUROPE TO PRESENT LATEST INNOVATIONS AT VISCOM EUROPE AND PHOTOKINA

Wednesday 27. August 2008 - Belgium-based wide-format digital inkjet printer & cutter manufacturer Mutoh Europe announces its participation in VISCOM EUROPE (September 24th - September 26th, 2008 - Booth E062-E074) Paris, France and PHOTOKINA 2008 (September 23rd - September 28th, 2008 - Booth Hall 10.1 A10-B11), Cologne, Germany.

Mutoh will display its latest innovations in the field of large-format digital inkjet printing for commercial print applications, including its proprietary i² Intelligent Interweaving technology, which is drastically improving overall print quality and operator convenience. Apart from the latest Mutoh printer equipment that will be shown at both shows, i.e. the Blizzard & ValueJet series printers, Viscom Europe visitors will also be able to discover Mutoh’s new wide-format UV printer, called ZEPHYR. This new 65″ printer has been engineered and developed at Mutoh’s European R&D centre and will be produced at the Mutoh Belgian manufacturing site from September onwards.

Under the motto “Impeccability and Predictability lead to Profitability” Mutoh Europe invites visitors, customers and partners to discover the unique benefits of Mutoh’s proprietary intelligent interweaving technology that is now standard on almost all Mutoh printers. With Mutoh’s Intelligent Interweaving Technology – called i² (pronounced I squared) – ink is laid down in carefully optimized wave forms versus straight lines as used with most wide-format printers. The result is a drastic reduction or even total elimination of defects such as horizontal banding, ink mottle, bleed and the visible effects of missing or misfiring nozzles. Dedicated “print weave patterns” are being developed per individual printer and ink type. One of the biggest benefits of Mutoh i² technology is that it offers predictable and reproducible output quality. Printer users will be able to print ideal quality images fit-for-purpose every time, in the shortest time. As such, i² stands for an unprecedented level of user comfort for the printer operator.

Having generated a great interest at the Fespa and Drupa shows earlier this year, the Mutoh Zephyr UV printer will again be demonstrated at Viscom. The printer is a CMYK 64″ (165 cm) professional UV inkjet printer for roll-to-roll printing (vinyl, flex, mesh, PVC, soft sign, etc). The printer also handles rigid boards up to a thickness of 20 mm.

The new Mutoh Zephyr printer incorporates 4 high-end Xaar variable drop heads, offering high image quality combined with high productivity. The heads produce droplets as small as 8 picoliter. Small drops (8 pl) are used to deliver pin-sharp text and line art, whilst larger drops (16, 24, 32 & 40 pl) ensure excellent image saturation. Enabling 6 levels of greyscale, which is equivalent to 6 densities of CMYK, the print heads eliminate the need for extra process colours.

Mutoh Europe will also show both at Photokina and Viscom its award-winning Blizzard series printer in combination with Mutoh’s optional Bulk Ink System, specifically developed for speed-intensive, volume-oriented users, and Mutoh’s new set of CMYK mild solvent inks – called Mild Solvent Plus. Mild Solvent Plus (MS Plus) for Blizzard indicates a second generation of Mutoh mild solvent inks. The new inks will drastically improve both performance and cost for print figures on Mutoh’s Blizzard series printers.

Available in 165 cm (65″) and 224 cm (90″) widths, Mutoh’s Blizzard printers will offer impeccable production output quality up to 40 m²/h and top speeds up to 80 m²/h.

Visitors will also be able to see the latest addition to Mutoh’s ValueJet family of Eco-Solvent Ultra printers, i.e. the new ValueJet 1614 eco ultra printer. ValueJet 1614 is a 165 cm (64″) wide printer. The ValueJet 1614 incorporates a newly designed vertical cassette slot system, enhancing printer ergonomics and increasing ink capacity (440 ml), leading to lower production costs / m². Print speeds of the new ValueJet 1614 go up to 18.25 m²/h.
