Siegwerk receives certificate for promotion of young people

Friday 08. August 2008 - Siegwerk was awarded the certificate for promotion of young people by Germany’s Federal Employment Agency, the Bundesagentur für Arbeit.

At the company’s headquarters in Siegburg, Germany in the presence of trainees and training supervisors, Manfred Kusserow, deputy director of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit Bonn/Rhein-Sieg, presented the award to Dirk Achtermeyer, Siegwerk HR manager for Siegburg. “With this certificate I would like to highlight Siegwerk’s special commitment in the promotion of young people, representative of all the other companies, which also educate, show social responsibility and cooperate with the career guidance of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit in an exemplary manner,” said Kusserow.
“We are really happy about this honor, because training is very important to us”, explained Achtermeyer. “We always train with the goal of integrating young people into the company. We’ve established an outstanding cooperation with the career guidance and employer service departments of the Siegburg office of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit Bonn/Rhein-Sieg over the years.”

Siegwerk offers eight training courses in Siegburg. High school graduates and students of the “Höhere Handelsschule” have the possibility to do dual study courses for industrial engineers and industrial computer scientists in cooperation with the “Nordakademie” in Elmshorn. Courses for logistics management are organized in cooperation with the European University of Applied Sciences in Brühl. Furthermore, the training for Industrial Business Management Assistant is offered. School leavers with “Fachoberschulreife” will have a chance for training in the professions chemical technician, electrical engineer for automation engineering, specialist for logistics as well as IT specialist for systems integration. Currently, the company trains 26 young people. On August 1, 2008, nine new trainees will start in Siegburg. Four new employees will begin their dual study courses on October 1. The selection process for the upcoming year of training has already begun.
