TransMedia Launches the Glide OS World Development Program (GWDP)

Friday 11. July 2008 - A Mobile Technology Platform to Advance Social and Economic Development in the Developing World

Today TransMedia is launching the Glide OS World Development Program (GWDP) to bring Glide’s powerful and low cost mobile computing solutions to the developing world.

“We are excited today to launch the Glide OS World Development Program in support of developing nations around the world,” said TransMedia’s Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. “The program will begin with the world’s youngest nation, Kosovo, currently with an unemployment rate of over 60% and a recent history of ethnic strife. Glide Kosovo will be available in both the Albanian and Serbian languages and will provide powerful mobile productivity and collaboration applications to promote entrepreneurship, economic opportunity and greater cooperation in Kosovo among ethnic groups.”

The GWDP is also proud to announce today the launch of Glide Albania. “We are pleased to be working together with non-profit organizations like GlideKosova.org and GlideAlbania.org to help bring advancement to these developing nations,” said Mr. Leka.

The GWDP will be launching GlideJamaica.org on July, 28th 2008. “We hope to have the Glide OS deployed in over 20 developing countries by the end of 2008,” said Mr. Leka.
