Monday 30. June 2008 - PlotFactory AG, a leading large format print service provider in Switzerland opts for quality, flexibility and increased efficiency

Gandinnovations, a world leader in grand format digital printer innovations, announces today its first European installation of the Jeti 3324 Aquajet at PlotFactory AG in Switzerland. This new Direct-to-Fabric digital printer only just made its debut at drupa 08 and created a stir in the industry with its outstanding printing results on all kinds of fabric.

The Swiss-based leading large format print service provider is delighted to add GandinnovationsÂ’ wide format Jeti 3324 to its pool of machines. “The Aquajet enables us to print, slit, and seal in just one process. This is a tremendous advantage for us as we no longer need a separate sublimation machine. In the long run, this will save us time and resources and will also have a positive impact on the environment”, says Mr. Rinaldo Fochetti, Managing Director of PlotFactory AG in Weisslingen.

An enhanced color gamut, an eco-friendly ink formulation, a high print quality in terms of short distance displays as well as a fast printing speed for improved reaction times were just some of the strong arguments that convinced PlotFactory AG to opt for the Aquajet.

PlotFactory AG currently prints on a variety of fabrics ranging from backlit material, satin textiles, non-reflective block-out fabrics, canvas to transparent and light banner materials. Applications include event displays for flags and banners, indoor and outdoor advertising, exhibitions, for museums, and even home decoration such as table-cloths and carpets.

Rinaldo Fochetti set up the business in 1999 and immediately focused on large format digital printing. Today, PlotFactory AG (www.plotfactory.ch) is one of the leading large format print service providers in Europe. With a staff of 34 employees and with more than 30 printing presses ranging in width from 75 cm to 3,30 meters, the company is able to offer its broad customer range from various sectors such as services, bank, jewelry, watch, automobile, and sporting industries as well as advertising & marketing departments, stand builders, event organizers and retail shops a large choice of printing opportunities.

The Award winning Aquajet

The Aquajet is equipped with 24 print heads. The Jeti 3324 Aquajet Direct-to-Fabric digital printer recently created a huge buzz in the industry by winning the “European Digital Press” 2008 award. GandinnovationsÂ’ new digital printer provides customers with the opportunity to witness its outstanding performance by bringing colors and images alive using specially formulated, water-based dye dispersed inks and printing in 6 colors with a true 400 dpi resolution. With a printing width of 3.20 meters, the roll-to-roll printer allows direct printing to any polyester-base fabrics and achieves vibrant, brilliant and fade-resistant colors that enhance the fabrics, flags, banners and textile materials for many soft signage applications. A specifically built-in infrared heater allows the colors to pop out and requires no extra curing equipment.

Additional features of the Jeti Aquajet include the Spectra Water-based Special Edition print heads which produce ultra real images with a production speed of 60sqm/hr or 650 sqft/hr. The Jeti Aquajet also comes equipped with three high temperature slitting units that are attached on the rewind rollers allowing the slitting and sealing of the fabrics to the finished and required sizes. The printing device has a built-in venting system and a separate Air Cleaning Unit that are included with the printer. Unique beveled media rollers ensure all types of fabrics are centered on the printer for accurate print quality and registration.

Hary Gandy, President of Gandinnovations concludes: “The installation of our new innovative Aquajet direct-to-fabric digital printer at PlotFactory AG in Switzerland shows us once again that we are able to reach new markets and service new customers in Europe. The Jeti Aquajet now achieves bold and solid colors and prints directly to all fabrics. To obtain direct colors, printing to paper first is no longer necessary. It is one single process now which enables printshops to save time and money.”
