Day Software to Present at Enterprise Content Management Event

Thursday 12. June 2008 - Company's senior developer and member of the Apache Software Foundation to discuss Jackrabbit and showcase award-winning Apache Sling

Day Software (SWX: DAYN, OTCQX: DYIHY), a leading provider of global content management and content infrastructure software, announced today that the company’s senior developer, Bertrand Delacretaz, will lead a presentation at the third Meet the Communities event in Luxembourg on Thursday, June 12. As a thought leader among open source developers, Bertrand will highlight the reliability, flexibility and robust features found in two Apache products – Jackrabbit and Sling.

The presentation will provide a brief introduction to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) and show attendees how the organization is structured and continues to thrive. Within the software industry, Apache is considered an indispensable source for developers creating content management applications, due to the breadth and quality of its projects and business-friendly license. Bertrand will highlight Jackrabbit as an example of Apache’s openness, since it implements Java Content Repository (JCR) standards. Customers can easily store hierarchical structured content and develop content-oriented applications by using the Apache Jackrabbit project.

Bertrand will also highlight the Apache Sling Web development platform, which recently received top accolades from the Software and Support Verlag GmbH, a German integrated IT media company and presenter of the JAX Innovation Award. Still in its development phase, Apache Sling incorporates both JSR 170 and Representational State Transfer (REST) principles. Transforming the way projects are built, Apache Sling features a unique combination of simple scripting-based development with enterprise-level Open Service Gateway initiative (OSGi) modularity features. The new product enables developers, during request processing, to resolve content and then select the controller to generate content pages.
