Nordson Corporation Foundation Donates Building and Provides Lead Gift in Capital Campaign for Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County

Saturday 07. June 2008 - The Nordson Corporation Foundation today announced that it has donated a building and provided a $300,000 lead gift in a capital campaign for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County (Ohio).

“We’re very pleased to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County, as the work they do ties directly to our Foundation mission. We aim to improve the quality of life in areas where we operate. We do this by improving educational outcomes that enable individuals to become self sufficient and active participants in the community,” said Cecilia Render, Director of the Nordson Corporation Foundation. “Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.”

“We are grateful to the Nordson Corporation Foundation for its support, which will allow us to improve and expand the reach of our services,” said Mike Conibear, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County are a safe place for kids to learn and grow, all while having fun.”

The donated building, appraised at $490,000 and located at 1821 Middle Avenue in Elyria, Lorain County, is 17,000 square feet in size and is expected to become the organization’s new permanent headquarters. Nordson previously used the property for some of its operations and has donated the space for a variety of charitable purposes since 2003.
