Monday 02. June 2008 - Ipex 2010 is launching the ‘Champions in Print Awards’ to acknowledge the huge contribution of those who have influenced and shaped the development of the printing industry.

Between April 2008 and Ipex 2010, anyone in the industry is invited to nominate any living person who has made an outstanding contribution to print anywhere in the world. To celebrate the dynamic evolution of print, nominations might be for groundbreaking technological developments, innovative inventions, amazing applications, stunning project executions, dynamic design for print or exceptional dedication to customer service. Entries must be supported by approximately 100 words summarising the special impact the nominee has had on the printing industry.

Every quarter, the Ipex Advisory Committee (IAC) will debate the nominations and announce a winner for that period – amounting to ten ‘Champions in Print’ in the run up to Ipex 2010. Each winner will be notified and presented with an Ipex 2010 ‘Champions in Print Award’. In addition, a photo of each winner, together with a short summary of the winner’s valuable contribution to print will be posted on the ‘Champions in Print’ gallery section on the Ipex website. Ipex 2010 will also host an official Awards’ reception for all ten ‘Champions in Print’ during the event, which will take place from 18th May – 25th May 2010.

Apart from voting on www.ipex.org/champions, visitors to drupa will also have the chance to cast their vote directly in the ‘Champions in Print’ ballot box on the Ipex stand: 9A 73.

Ipex 2010 marketing director, Nick Craig Waller comments: “We’re extremely excited about the launch of our ‘Champions in Print Awards’ as it offers a brilliant platform to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work, effort and time devoted by people in the industry world-wide.
There are so many famous as well as unsung heroes within the industry and by keeping the competition as open as possible; we are hoping to have a mix of international personalities who will receive our prestigious Award.

“This far-reaching initiative demonstrates our commitment to the global print market as well as to innovation and excellence in what is a very dynamic industry. There will be a constant voting poll available until Ipex 2010 so if a nominee hasn’t been picked first time, he or she can be entered again. We look forward to meeting the ‘Champions in Print’ winners personally and drawing from their expertise”, Nick Craig Waller concludes.
