printadvice: Because decisions for the future are made in the present.

Sunday 01. June 2008 - Utilizing and strategically extending potentials

Efficient, supermodern and sustainably ecological print production works with foresighted investment planning and production facility design as well as with individually tailored organizational and management structure, pro-duction system design and process optimization

At drupa 2008 from May 29 through June 11, in PrintCity Hall 6 of the Düsseldorf trade show site, manroland will be presenting the comprehensive consultancy port-folio of the new brand printadvice, one of the four PRINTVALUE sectors, designed to boost the competitive strength of manroland customers.

Concentrated consultancy competence
With printadvice, customers receive sustainable advice about the printing process and related subjects, taking into account the other sectors of PRINTVALUE. The knowledge is based on the experience of manroland and its subsidiary EURO-GRAFICA Systemplanungs GmbH, gathered over many years. printadvice shows printing companies their potentials and supports them in their strategic planning of matters such as long-term investment decisions and sound ROI planning, energy-conscious production plant design or a new design of production systems.

ADAM expanding to Rostock
For example, the printadvice experts supported the expansion course of the ADAM group of companies in Bruchsal, Germany. With its investment in two 48-page LITHOMAN printing systems the printing company also procured the process plan-ning competence of printadvice. After intensive search and comprehensive analy-ses, the location Rostock-Laage was found to offer the ideal conditions of infra-structure for expansion of production. The possibility of an eventual extension of capacity was considered from the very beginning, in planning both the size of the building site and the design of the production facility. The focus in planning the new plant was on the requirement that the architecture should reflect the production process. The period allowed for the construction work up till the printing systems’ start of production was short: half a year. All involved made it right on time. In mid September 2006, production started in the new printing plant of ADAM Nord.

Energy-efficient printing
It is a particular aim of printadvice to help printers achieve energy-conscious and ecologically sound production. Together with the customer, printadvice searches out the best solutions for sustainable energy management in the production build-ing and for the production processes. This includes heat and energy recovery, op-timization of lighting, increasing the efficiency of drying aggregates and com-pressed-air systems, or useful retrofits and systematized maintenance. printadvice also recommends to printers specific measures that let them reduce waste and ma-terial consumption, and it shows them how to introduce standardized printing proc-esses – all of these also being decisive factors in improving the ecological balance in printing companies.

Improving through changes
Two other important pillars complete the differentiated and comprehensive portfolio of printadvice: technical and organizational process optimization with the aim to re-duce costs while increasing quality and productivity. This often also necessitates changes in organizational structure. printadvice helps the management develop measures to this end and establish the change management processes in the or-ganization.
