Sunday 01. June 2008 - While the roll-out of the currently largest LITHOMAN is still proceeding at full speed, manroland engineers in conjunction with Mohn media, Europe’s largest offset printing company, are already preparing the next quantum leap in the commercial XXL sector.

Their aim is to develop the first short grain 96-page LITHOMAN with a web width of 2,520 millimeters, to once more increase productivity of high-volume commercial printing. The target is an output of 4.3 million pages per hour. The system will be set up in late 2009 on the premises of Mohn media to start joint test operations in early 2010.

“With this investment, Mohn media continues its strategy of early investments in innovative technologies. The close cooperation with manroland primarily benefits our customers, as the new 96-page LITHOMAN allows us to keep offering them the highest degree of quality, flexibility and effectiveness,” says Roland Witte, head of web offset printing and executive management of Mohn media.

A further part of this long-term partnership is a ten-color ROLAND 700 whose uses include cover production. In addition, another LITHOMAN with a 2,060 millimeters web width will be installed in Gütersloh. Furthermore, with a total of more than 30 million euros, the order includes a 72-page LITHOMAN for the Spanish printing company Rotedic (arvato print iberica), continuing the joint success story over there.
