Atlantic Zeiser debuts three new print solutions at drupa 2008 – OMEGA 210, FLEXOJET 600 and BRAILLEJET

Sunday 01. June 2008 - Key advantages are flexibility, high quality and cost-effective production

Atlantic Zeiser, supplier of variable data printing and encoding solutions, will showcase three innovative new solutions during drupa 2008 – the OMEGA 210 digital industrial inkjet printer, the FLEXOJET 600 modular system for high-performance UV printing solutions, and the BRAILLEJET digital print solution for Braille printing. The new offerings, along with Atlantic Zeiser’s full range of one-stop system integration solutions, will be on display at stand C56, Hall 11.

Oliver Mehler, CEO of Atlantic Zeiser, comments: “These new offerings directly respond to our customers’ needs for variable data printing solutions that deliver the flexibility of digital technologies combined with the quality perception and cost-effectiveness of analog printing. Especially when it comes to the printing on non-absorbing substrates such as coated papers, plastics, and metal surfaces, these are the industrial printers of choice. Like all our printers they can all be easily combined with our line of camera systems to ensure 100% quality control.”

Optimal solution for A4 size print jobs
The 360 dpi OMEGA 210 digital inkjet printer is the latest extension of Atlantic Zeiser’s successful OMEGA inkjet range. It provides an efficient and economical solution for single pass inkjet printing of wide print jobs up to A4 size. Lightweight and compact, the OMEGA 210 is a high-resolution production powerhouse that easily integrates into most existing equipment. It combines the reliability of Atlantic Zeiser’s proven OMEGA line with their high contrast inks to ensure exceptionally crisp print quality, with no visible stitching lines for seamless printing across the whole print head. The one head design supports uninterrupted printing across 210 mm width with black as well as spot color inks.

Maximum flexibility and print quality
FLEXOJET 600 delivers ultimate flexibility, near flexo print quality and proven reliability of thermal inkjet solution on virtually any material, for a wide variety of high-speed industrial applications. This scalable solution is based on drop-on-demand HP TIJ 2.5 technology and can be customized as required with curing systems and a controller platform. Offering the ultimate flexibility for a customer’s specific requirements, it can be configured as a single pen system or a complex multiple imager stitched solution with advanced features such as camera verification. The 38.1 mm fully modular design allows FLEXOJET to be stitched on mounting platforms for wide format printing, seamless imaging of variable and fixed text, bar code symbols and bitmaps, with stitching across all pens.

A powerful solution for high-volume printing, FLEXOJET delivers 600 x 600 dpi resolution at 42 m per minute using AZ’s specially formulated UV curing inks, and optional resolutions and potential speeds of up to 300 m per minute using water based inks. The in house developed UV inks produce excellent print quality and contrast, making them an ideal choice for high resolution bar codes on any substrate media. Over 80 bar codes (1D and 2D) are supported, with complete control over ratio, bar widths and other criteria.

Digitally printed Braille fonts
BRAILLEJET, a new high quality printing system for Braille, the touchable font for blind people – offers an innovative and accurate solution for the personalization and encoding needs of the packaging industry and pharmaceutical market. Revolutionary new micro valve technology, based on micro valves, enables Braille fonts to be printed using UV curable high-viscosity ink to achieve immediate fixation of the dots. The result is optimum readability and exceptional dot clarity. BRAILLEJET offers the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of digital printing – with the advantage to easily print variable data. The expensive setup costs associated with silk-screen printing or embossing are totally eliminated. BRAILLEJET makes it easy to switch from one job to another. One print head prints two Braille lines simultaneously – the print width can be increased by seamless stitching of additional heads.

During drupa Atlantic Zeiser will present its complete range of quality product solutions for high quality variable data printing and late stage product customization on carton, labels and on flexible packaging materials such as foils, PET or aluminum.
