4 Xeikon 8000s to Support High-Quality Transpromo Application at Parajett

Parajett AB, Swedish communications solutions provider based in Landskrona in the south of Sweden, has resolutely chosen for Xeikon, having purchased no less than 4 Xeikon 8000s. The Xeikon 8000 is Xeikons newest flagship, which was launched last March. The unique combination of uncompromising quality (1200 dpi at 4 bits/spot) and speed (230 ppm) offered by the Xeikon 8000 has been a key factor in the companys choice.
Parajett was contacted by ICA AB, leading food retailer in Sweden and Norway, for the production of a nation-wide digitally printed transpromo application. Since 2003 Parajett had already been printing documents for the ICA loyalty program, using offset and black-and-white variable-data printing. The new transpromo application would work as follows: ICA customers receive monthly statements of their purchases, and will receive, with these statements, coupons for discounts on a selection of products that will appeal to them. By using the information obtained through a customers loyalty card, ICA can offer customized discounts, adapted to a particular customers buying behavior. This way, ICA responds to a growing customer demand for more relevant information and offerings, improving the effectiveness of its customer communications and, as a result, increasing customer loyalty and spending.
An initial pilot project targeting 75,000 households in Östergötland, in the mid-east of Sweden, is run on Parajetts Xeikon 6000. For the countrywide roll-out planned in autumn, the productivity offered by the 4 Xeikon 8000s is paramount, as approximately 6 million A4 full color pages will have to be printed in 5-6 days.
The first Xeikon 8000 will be installed in June and the complete set-up will be fully operational and up and running by the end of August. All four engines will be equipped with an optional IPDS Controller, a Jumbo Unwinder, and a Jumbo Rewinder.
